Inventory for Sale
The
four M1A's in laminated stocks share some common features.
All four are under three quarter M.O.A. for accurary. The
worst of the four shoots .600, the best shoots .488. The average
for the four is .547. All have U.S.G.I. parts (except barrels
and stocks). Two are Douglas s/s barrels, both 14 twist. One
is a CHR/Moly 14 twist Shilen andthe last is a 10" twist
Krieger CHR/Moly.
All but the Krieger were turned by me from scratch and fire-lapped
using a technique of chambering the guns in 30 carbine for
the fire lapping and then rechambering them to 308 Winc. Since
the .308 is muchlonger than the .30 carbine, the carbine chamber
is completely removed leaving a pristine 308 chamber with
no fire lap damage to the leade of the chamber. The barrles
were then installed.
All four guns are in Wenig laminated tactical stocks in 4
different colors. All are finished in a urethane clear coat
which is very durable. All have butt pads installed as well
as bipod studs. All have slotted hand guards which I did myself
as Wenig furnishes them as solid, unslotted hand guards. All
have a magazine well guard which I designed to prevent stock
damage during reloading.
One of the gun's stocks has been modified for National Match
course High Power shooting. It has a comb height suitable
for iron sights but also an adjustable height cheek piece
which can be adjusted for height for different shooting positions
or scope installation. All of the stocks are ambidextrous,
allowing easy use by either right or left handed shooters.
The N.M.C. stock also has a fire end rail for an adjustable
hand-stop/sling swivel assy.
The test groups will come with the guns and also the handload
data.
Also, I will offer separately, a scope mount which I designed
and manufactured which allows the following:
Instead of being a 1-piece casting, I made it so the picatinny
rail is separate and adjustable for windage and elevation.
This means that you can adjust your scope wind to center and
your elevation to 4-7 total minutes allowing you maximum windage
and elevation adjustments in the scope itself. Once the scope
rail is adjusted, it is very securely tightened and then the
scope is sighted in at 100 yards with it's elevation settings
within 4-5 minutes of bottom. You will have no trouble then
achieving 1000 yard elevations as well.
That shiny thing on the muzzle serves two purposes. First
it is a barrel extension of 3/4" diameter, meaning if
you want to put a clamp on iron sight, you can. I can also
furish a rear sight base that attaches in place of the G.I.
rear sight now on the gun. It will allow you to install about
any rear iron sight you choose.
The barrel extension also acts as a cleaning rod guide to
prevent muzzle crown damage. The guide slides onto your 1/4"
diameter cleaning rod and fits inside the barrel extension.
All four guns come with this feature.
Have a ton of time and expense in these four. The N.M.C.
gun is offered for $4295. The other 3 are offered at $4000
each.
I have to protect my patent rights on the scope mount so
even though I have seven of them completed, I will wait to
offer them for sale. They will sell for $475 each.
The black M1A in the MacMillan stock has a 10 twist Krieger
barrel which I tested just under 1 MOA. It is double lugged
in the U.S. Marine Corp style by a retired M.C. Armorer. All
G.I. parts. The gun has not been fired more than 50 rounds.
It, and the AR-15 are for sale by my customer who asked me
to offer them. The M1A @ $3000, the AR-15 @ ????.
